Welcome to Steps for Tomorrow

 It is not just a run; it is a movement.

We lace up with purpose, passion, and a shared determination to shine a light on the mental health of our Local Heroes and Veterans. Suicide too often strikes silently and without warning. At Steps for Tomorrow, we believe that awareness is the first step toward prevention.


Our Mission:

To build a community grounded in connection, support, and the unwavering belief that no one should face their struggles alone. We run to honor lives, spark conversation, and champion access to the help and resources our Heroes and Veterans rightfully deserve. Additionally, we host a resource fair focused on mental health, offering resources to our participants.


Why We Run:

The science is clear: running heals. Studies show that physical activity, especially running, has a profound effect on mental well-being. From boosting mood and self-esteem to reducing symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress, running offers more than just fitness.

A comprehensive review of over 100 studies found that running—no matter the pace or distance—builds emotional resilience, stability, and a deeper sense of purpose. It is not just about physical strength. It is about creating mental momentum.

Steps for Tomorrow Resource Fair:

As part of our Steps for Tomorrow event, we are hosting a dedicated Steps for Tomorrow Resource Fair, bringing together organizations specializing in Mental Health that are making a real impact in the lives of our Local Heroes and Veterans. This fair serves as a hub of support, connection, and actionable guidance. Whether you are seeking services for yourself, someone you love, or you are an advocate eager to learn more, this space is designed to bridge the gap between need and access.

At the Resource Fair, participants can:

  • Connect with local and national mental health organizations. 
  • Access information on therapy, crisis support, peer networks, and veteran-specific programs 
  • Discover free or low-cost mental health services. 
  • Explore tools for stress management, mindfulness, and resilience building.
